Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about pawning your crypto with CryptoPawn. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch.

Getting Started

CryptoPawn, Inc. is a licensed Pawnbroker in Delaware, USA.
CryptoPawn is a crypto-backed lending platform. You pledge your cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH, XRP, BNB or Solana) as collateral and receive a cash loan in USD. Your crypto is held securely for the duration of your contract, and you get it back once the loan is fully repaid.
It's simple: use our calculator to get an instant quote, sign a contract, and transfer your crypto to our secure wallet. Once we confirm receipt, your loan is paid out. Make your monthly payments on time, and your crypto is returned at the end of the contract.
We currently accept Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), BNB, and Solana (SOL).
Loans are paid out in US Dollars (USD), sent as a USD-pegged crypto stablecoin directly to your wallet.

Loan Terms & Offers

We offer 50% Collateral-to-Value (CTV). This means you receive a loan equal to 50% of your crypto's current market value at the time of your application.
Pawn contracts of $1,500 or less (or the equivalent in your currency) are auto-approved in minutes, 24/7. Larger contracts are reviewed by our team and are typically approved within a few hours.
You can choose from 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, or 36 months.
Your loan amount is locked in at the time of signing. Market fluctuations during the contract period do not affect your repayment amount or the amount of crypto returned to you.

Fees & Payments

There are three types of fees:

  • Initiation fee — a once-off fee charged at the start of your contract. This varies by duration (e.g. $5 for 1 month, up to $30 for 36 months).
  • Monthly storage fee — a percentage of your loan amount charged monthly. The rate decreases with longer contracts: 5% for 1 month, 4% for 3 months, 3% for 6 months, 2% for 12 months, 1.5% for 24 months, and 1% for 36 months.
  • Monthly admin fee — a flat monthly fee of $5.

All fees are clearly shown before you sign your contract — no hidden costs.

Monthly fees apply to contracts longer than 1 month and are due at the end of each month. You pay them in the same stablecoin your loan was paid out in (e.g. USDC or USDT), by sending the fee amount to your contract's dedicated fee & repayment wallet — shown in your payment schedule on the My Contracts page.

Payments are detected on-chain and credited to your schedule automatically. The final month's fees don't need a separate payment — they form part of your final repayment, unless you choose to pay them early. For 1-month contracts, all fees are simply included in your single repayment at the end of the term.

We'll send you reminders before each payment is due. If a payment is missed, our team will reach out to discuss your options. Continued non-payment may result in liquidation of your collateral to cover the outstanding balance.

Security & Custody

Yes. Your crypto is transferred to our secure custody wallet and held for the duration of your contract. It is not traded, lent out, or used in any way. It is returned to you in full once your contract obligations are met.
Once all payments (including the final settlement/redemption) are complete, you can request a transfer of your crypto back to your wallet. Our team processes redemptions promptly.

Referral Programme

Yes! Every user gets a unique referral code. When someone uses your code to sign a contract, you earn a 20% commission on their initiation fee. You can track your referrals and earnings from the Referrals page in your dashboard.
Sign in and navigate to the Referrals page from the navigation bar. You'll find your unique code there, ready to share with friends and family.
